The Summer of Soccer

Dubbed "The Summer of Soccer", the summer of 2015 has lived up to its' name.  The first week of July, Colt attended his local club's soccer clinic, a half-day camp where he learned technical skills from area coaches.  Later in the week, Colt and I made the drive to Nashville to watch the US National Team take on Guatemela in a friendly tune-up for the Gold Cup.  Colt had a blast.  I think he mostly enjoyed wearing his Captain America gear but seemed to enjoy the game too.  A few weeks later, Colt took part in another mini-camp in Vestavia, which he really enjoyed.  He won several skills contests and even got to take home a few prizes.

We also enjoyed watching the US Women's Team win the World Cup.  We watched several of the matches at Buffalo Wild Wings, where Colt's soccer club hosted watch parties which were lots of fun.  To cap off the "Summer of Soccer", I made the trip over to watch the US National Team play the Gold Cup Semi-Final against Jamaica.  The US came in as huge favorites and lost.  Just my luck!  It was still fun and glad I got the chance to finally see them play - twice!
