In June, Susan and I took a long weekend to visit New York City - our last visit there, we came back engaged. Nothing quite so awesome happened this time, but it was a great getaway.
Since we've been before, we skipped many of the main attractions (Empire State Building, etc) to do some new things. Our first day consisted of visits to the Natural History Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and a New York Yankees game. We also had a "southern" style lunch at Jacob's Pickles. (Pro tip: don't eat Southern food in New York).
On day 2 we visited the 9/11 Memorial, which was a sobering experience. We also took in a Broadway play, Burn This, starring Star War's Adam Driver and The Americans' Keri Russell. Great play.
Finally, we took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry to get a good look at the Statue of Liberty before heading to the airport to make the trip home.
It was a fun weekend and we got a lot in, but always nice to go back home and see the kiddos. Click the pic above to see our pics (almost all selfies!) from the weekend.
