Chattanooga, July 2011

Over the long 4th of July weekend, we loaded up the Jeep and headed north to Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park, near Chattanooga. We had a great time. We all bought Unlimited Ride tickets and totally took advantage of it. Colt loved the rides and kept saying "UP!, UP!, UP!", wanting to go on the rides that went airborne. Some of his favorite rides were the Bee Ride and the spinning basket ride. He also liked riding the boats and cars, where he got to ride all by himself! He had so much fun riding the rides, he didn''t even want to take a break to eat ice cream (really strange for Colt!). By the end of the day, Colt, Dad, and Mom were all tuckered out. We saw the fireworks show and then headed back to our hotel - the Chattanooga Choo Choo!

Colt also won a Bug Necklace playing Skeeball - he was quite proud of it!

Day 2 in Chattanooga, Colt was surprised to wake up surrounded by Choo Choo Trains! He crashed as soon as we left the amusement park, and slept all the way through check-in at Chattanooga''s historic Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel. We had a great room overlooking all the trains. Once we woke up, Colt couldn''t wait to go down and check them out. We spent a few hours exploring the grounds at the hotel and even took a train ride on the hotel''s trolley. Colt was very excited when he got the opportunity to ring the bell on the trolley!

After we left the hotel, it was on to the splash pad at Coolidge Park. Susan and I don''t think we''ve ever seen Colt have so much fun! He LOVED the splash pad! We spent a couple hours there, then capped off the trip with a ride on the carousel followed by Colt''s favorite treat: "INE!!" (ice cream).
